Coastlands Hotel Musgrave, based on Durban’s North Ridge Road incorporates two SolarEdge 27.6KW Inverters, powered by 69kW of DC Solar Power. The system is designed on the top most roof of the hotel, a curved Clip Lock North/South curved roof. The system is designed to feed the entire hotel when the grid is up, supplementing the draw from the Municipality, and monitoring the load with the integrated Solar Edge Main Meter.

Schneider Hybrid Solar System

This three-phase hybrid solar system was designed using the Schneider XW+ range of inverters. The system is designed to maximise the yield of the sun, feeding power back from the essential circuits through to the non-essentials.

The Batteries, Gel Backup batteries are used to support the house load in the event of an outage, the solar supplementing the batteries during sun hours.
Being so close to the Ocean, the Solar Panels have been installed using a Clipping Mounting Structure on the steel roof and a weighted ground mount structure on the slab preventing any roof piercings.

To decrease municipal reliance, this house has been designed with two solar geysers, heating all the hot water supplies in the house with the help of the sun. Geyserwise controllers were installed so that the client has full control over their electrical heating temperature and usage, maximising their efficiency.

Rhino Sands Safari

Off-Grid Solar Plant

Rhino Sands Safari is a completely off-grid Luxury Safari Camp situated in the Manyoni Game Reserve in Mkuze. Being self-sufficient for both water and electricity the camp is at the forefront of design.

Rhino Sands is powered by a Three-Phase Schneider XW+ inverter system, incorporating both 25kWp AC and 6kwP DC Coupling into the Solar system. The power storage is in the form of 200ah 2V Cells, connected to give the system 2 days autonomy of power. The Solar System has diesel integrations, where in the event of multiple rainy days the generator will supply the system with sufficient power to reset the storage to maximum capacity allowing the system to continue operating.

The Design of this solar system was built in such a way to maximise the system autonomy and minimise human interaction, allowing the complete automation of Solar, Batteries and Generator to feed the lodge.

Hybrid Solar Installation

Get your foot in the door with a Hybrid Solar System, maximising the amount of power you produce but including backup power. Hybrid Power is the first step in getting off the grid.

This site was installed in Hibberdene as part of an estate installation. This client entered the Solar Market with a simple hybrid system and is able to pay it off quicker than usual. The excess power produced in this house is fed back to the Body Corporate and sold onto their next-door neighbours.

This project is installed in Victoria Country Club Estate: An SMA Sunny Island linked to the Home Manager powered by 8 x 200ah VRLA Backup Batteries. This offers the client in excess of 8 hours worth of Backup Power running all their essential circuits

Our Client in Bothas Hill has seen the proof in the pudding when it comes to his Solar Geyser. A 300L Options has been installed on his roof, offering his household complete independence through the majority of the summer months. With the installation of a Geyserwise controller, our client is able to control the heating temperature his geyser is set to, giving them the control.

Thanda Tented Camp is a Completely Off-Grid Site. A Comprehensive Energy Audit was conducted and it was found that between their two Pool Pumps, their pump electrical usage was a large portion of the total. Both Pumps were taken off the main Solar System and now run off their own systems, when the suns out the pumps run.

You can see our staff being training on the correct usage of scaffolding and working at heights. As the majority of our Solar Installations are rooftop, we put a large emphasis on working safely at heights and ensure everyone has adequate training and safety equipment.

The client has the peace of mind knowing he has a double layer of Surge Protection, Earthed Protections, Grid Quality Monitoring, Bonding, Over Current Protections as well as the redundancy of a third party inspection.

We got involved in an outreach supported by Tanda Safari Camp, where we installed a completely Off-Grid DC system, with USB Charging, DC Lights, Water Pumps and even Wifi. The Creche is completely independent of a utility, so this is their only means of power.
